The 2009 - 2010 Season
All dates and times are subject to change
Kicking off our fourth season with a weekend of events, the Dixie is proud to welcome back Linda Davis. The stage at the Dixie on the Joe Woods Wildwood Express was one of Linda Davis' first places to perform as a teenager from East Texas before she went on to become a Grammy winning country music singer/songwriter. The weekend will start with a Meet and Greet party for her with the Benefactors on Friday night. Benefactors are free. All others may purchase a ticket for $25 per couple. Limited number of tickets. Saturday will begin with a workshop (9am till noon) for aspiring performers entitled "Stage Performance 101". With her years of experience on stage, Davis has an eye for laying out the overall well-rounded techniques that set a professional apart from an aspiring artist, and in helping an artist find their "comfort zone" on a stage. Limited number of spaces. $125 tuition. The event will continue with a two act show entitled "An Evening With Linda Davis" at 7:30pm. The first half will feature all of the songs from her 20 year career that everyone loves. The stage and mood will change in the second half to the 1940's as Linda delivers the classics from this era along with her talented three piece jazz combo. (website) Sponsored by Art Innovations

A full-length live stage show of the broadcast now airing on Public Television stations across the country. Award winning artists fill the stage with wartime memories and tunes. Actual veterans' stories create a sentimental journey back through the days when blackouts and rationing were a small sacrifice in order to obtain freedom--a time when "Rosie the Riveter" discovered she could take care of herself and a man's only wish was to be home for Christmas. This family show allows the "greatest generation" to celebrate, as the next "greatest generation" contemplates. Performed by EbzB Productions. Sponsored by Kilpatrick Funeral Homes
