Russ-Town Jazz

The Russ-Town Jazz Band is a volunteer ensemble composed of local musicians in Ruston, Louisiana, performing big band, swing, and jazz standards.

This is a Pay What You Can Concert for the Dixie, so no need to purchase tickets. We encourage patrons to donate what they can, a one-time or reoccurring donation can be made at the show.

A beloved tradition celebrating the life, legacy, and music of local legend Joe Woods. This high-energy event features foot-stomping country music and heartfelt performances from former members of Joe’s original band, along with singers who share a personal or musical connection to the Wildwood Express days.

More than just a fundraiser for the Historic Dixie Theater, this show is a living tribute to a vibrant era in Ruston's cultural history—when Saturday nights came alive with music, memories, and community. The Joe Woods Wildwood Express Show brings it all back, reminding us of the joy, camaraderie, and spirit that made those days so special.
